Before entering Korea, you need to prepare two things.
One is to be tested for COVID-19 and to receive a negative confirmation, and the other is to pre-enter quarantine information.
Since there is a process of registering a negative confirmation during the input process, it is recommended to register the quarantine information pre-entry (Q-Code) after being tested for COVID-19.
It is possible to save temporarily while inputting, so you can enter until the stage before registering the voice confirmation and proceed with the rest of the process after receiving the voice confirmation.
I wrote this post with readability in mind, so there may be some things I haven't covered. If you have any questions or want to know about any of the contents of the post, please ask in the comments or by e-mail, and we will let you know what we can answer.
Quarantine information pre-entry system (Q-Code) registration
If you register the quarantine information pre-entry system (Q-code) before entering the country, you can quickly pass the quarantine stage that you go through after getting off the plane.
Perhaps because the quarantine information pre-entry system is not advertised abroad, it takes a considerable amount of time for foreigners who have not registered before entering the country to fill out the form on the spot, whereas if they have registered in advance, just show the QR code at the quarantine checkpoint to receive a notice and a quarantine confirmation certificate. It took less than 5 minutes to receive.
To register the quarantine information pre-entry system (Q-Code) of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, visit https://cov19ent.kdca.go.kr/cpassportal/ .
Registration of the quarantine information pre-entry system is "01. Agree to the Terms and Conditions > 02. Enter your email > 03. Enter your passport information > 04. Enter your entry and stay information > 05. Enter your quarantine information > 06. Enter your health status > 07. Check your input information > 08.QR code issuance" proceeds in the order.
For the registration screen, refer to the sequence of captured images below.
After completing the input, you will receive an e-mail with the contents of the picture below to the e-mail address you writed during registration.
The mosaic-treated part at the top is a QR code, which you can submit at the quarantine checkpoint.
You can check the same QR code that you receive by e-mail on the input result screen of the quarantine information pre-entry system.
Upon completion of the inspection by the quarantine screening unit, you will receive a notice and a quarantine confirmation certificate with the following information.
Before June 1, 2022, it is duty that PCR test was performed within 1 day after entry is duty, and rapid antigen test was been required on the 6th to 7th days after entry. (The above guide is a guide as of June 1st)
After June 1, 2022, you only need to undergo PCR testing within 3 days of entering the country.
Those who have completed vaccination - those who have received at least the second dose of WHO-approved vaccine as of the date of entry - are subject to quarantine exemption, and those who have not entered from a country exempted from isolation exemption are subject to quarantine exemption.
For details on those subject to quarantine exemption, please refer to the contents of the quarantine exemption section of the posting.
Quarantine exemption
Those who have received a quarantine exemption letter before June 8, 2022 or have completed vaccination as of the date of entry - Those who have passed 14 days after the second vaccination or those who can prove the history of the third vaccination as of the date of entry - and exemption from quarantine applies Only those who did not enter from an excluded country were subject to quarantine exemption (passive monitoring).
But from June 8, 2022 , quarantine exemption has been implemented for all overseas arrivals regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or not. (Source: Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website press release " Isolation exemption for all overseas arrivals regardless of whether or not they have been vaccinated from June 8, 2022 (June 8, 2022 regular briefing) " )
Even if you are subject to quarantine exemption, you must follow the infection prevention rules for 7 days (manual monitoring period).
If you do not comply with the infection prevention rules, you may be punished if violations are discovered.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website address is https://kdca.go.kr . Information related to quarantine exemption may change depending on the situation, so please check the press release or notice on the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, and follow the latest guidelines published at the time of inquiry.
However, the guidelines that the pre-entry test (PCR, expert RAT) result must be negative and that the PCR test result must be negative within 3 days after entry are still being maintained separately from the quarantine exemption for inbound travelers.
PCR test
There are two ways to get a PCR test for foreigner.
One is to use the airport inspection center operated by the Iwon Medical Foundation and Myongji Hospital , and the other is to use the hospital in city.
It is convenient for foreigners to use the airport search center in the airport.
1. How to use the inspection center at Incheon Airport
There is a fee (80,000 won for Korean) at the inspection center at Incheon Airport, and you can reserve a time with Safe2Go Pass and visit the designated time to receive an inspection, or you can test after you can visit and wait. There are a total of 4 inspection centers at Incheon Airport, one each in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 for each hospital.
The website address of the inspection center at Incheon International Airport is https://safe2gopass.com and can be accessed with a web browser on a PC or smartphone.
If you take the test in the morning at the airport's inspection center, you will get the result in the afternoon.
And, since the results are sent by e-mail, it is suitable for cases in which an examination result is required and the result must be received on the same day. Depending on the selection of the result issuance method, the result may be printed through the unmanned issuance machine.
Please refer to the map image below for the location of the inspection center at Incheon Airport Terminal 1.
How to get to the inspection center:
First, get off at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 subway, then take the escalator next to KFC and go up to the 2nd floor.
After getting off the escalator, follow the blue arrow on the floor to the right. Take the first exit to the airport terminal on the left. The airport inspection center is right next to you on the left and right.
