The product to be introduced this time is the Temperature and Humidity sensor of the newly purchased Xiaomi Youpin/Youpin.
Among the two types of temperature/humidity sensors I bought before, the one in the bathroom is made of E-Ink, and the display is large enough to read easily. But the other is similar display to the one used in the watch, so the readability was very bad.
So I was looking for a replacement product and I bought this product.
(If I had found it earlier, I would not have had to spend on purchasing duplicate products.. 🥺🥺🥺)
Unlike previous purchases things, this product does not connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth.
It just works alone, but it doesn't seem like there will be any inconvenience as it will be used for occasional viewing in the living room.
(It was in the product description when I bought it, but I didn't read it properly before purchasing, so I only found out after opening the box and looking at the back. 😅😅)
The pros and cons of using it for about a month are summarized below.
Good: The big display makes it easy to see even from a distance, and it is possible to see it to some extent even in the dark.
Bad: The downside is that it requires a hanging hanger to attach to the wall and the humidity measurement seems inaccurate.

box exterior
The box is a plain white box with nothing. At the least, I thought the product name would be printed, but there are no letters anywhere on the front, back, left and right, top and bottom. 🤐🤐🤐
There is no printed content, but the description in the seller says that it is a Xiaomi Upin product.
(Xiaomi Youpin refers to products distributed through the online sales channel of the Xiaomi group, not manufactured by Xiaomi)
open box
The box does not have a sealing seal, just you can take out the product packaged in the air cap just by opening the top.
There is an instruction manual at the bottom of the product. Since the air cap is not taped separately, you can just take it out.
When the film attached to the liquid crystal part of the product is removed, the product is ready to use.
Components
It was all the components as below. The components are the product body and the manual. That is all.
The manual is bilingual in Chinese and English, and it is in a foldable configuration like most of the products you buy from AliXXXXX. When unfolded, the folded manual became 7 horizontally, so I had to cut it into 3 or 4 pages to take a picture.
In the manual, there is a description of each item displayed on the front of the product and a button on the back, and the temperature/humidity measurement range and setting method are printed on the product.
The only thing to set is the year, month, date and time. Setting up the clock is also simple, so if you've ever set up a desktop electronic clock that you put on your desk, you don't need to look at the manual.
Appearance
The picture below is the front view with the power turned off.
What is unique compared to the temperature/humidity sensors I have purchased is that there is a gauge bar for humidity in the front, not electronic, but in a fixed form.
A view of the sensor from the front. Do you see the 💡 shape on the bottom bezel? This part is a switch that turns on the backlight, but it is a touch type.
At the top of the rear part, there are parts used for wall-mounting, and there are buttons for setting. There are three buttons for changing the unit of temperature and for setting the clock. Below that is a cover for the battery compartment and a stand for tabletop use.
A side view of the product. I thought it was a perfect right angle, but it is slightly inclined to the front, so the back side is wider and the front side is slightly narrower.
specification
The weight of the product measured at 125g shown in the photo below is with batteries installed, and since two AAA-size batteries that are the same as the batteries placed in the product weigh 24g, the product itself seems to weigh about 100g.
The width and length of the product are almost square in length. It measures 90.4 mm in width and 87.3 mm in height. The thickness is 22.7mm, which is quite thick compared to the products I bought before.
Reviews
Previously purchased products use so-called coin batteries or coin batteries, whereas this product uses commonly used AAA size batteries. And since it is not connected to a smartphone, you have to set the settings using the buttons on the main unit.
In the case product of connection with a smartphone, the watch is automatically synchronized, so there is no need to set the watch again even if the battery is replaced later. But this product can't do that.
The battery cover can be fully opened by pulling the legs used for the stand and then sliding them. Open the cover and insert AAA size batteries in series as shown in the picture below, then slide the cover upwards to close it.
It is good to use AAA size batteries because they are generally easy to obtain. But there is a concern that the batteries will need to be replaced frequently if they are likely to use a lot of power.
In the picture below, the left is the backlight off and the right is the backlight on.
Because the display is large, the number on the screen is also large, so it shows good visibility to check the current status even if it is a little far away or it is somewhat dark. it is very good.
To hang the sensor on the wall, raise the hanger holder upward and hang it on the hanger as shown on the left.
(When I first installed it, I did it like the picture below, but it didn't looking good.)
Tip. So I attached a thin neodymium magnet on the back to fix it on the wall. Thanks to that, it's attached much neatly 😁😁
To use it as a tabletop, pull the stand on the back as shown below and place it on a desk or dressing table. It looked much better as a table top, unless it was neatly attached to the wall with a few tips as described above.
